Cornerstones Imaginative Learning Project - Wriggle and Crawl
Grab your coat - Year 2 are going on a minibeast hunt!
This half term Year 2 pupils will be sweeping their nets in puddles and ponds and lifting up logs to see which creatures they can find. They will learn about bees, worms and butterflies and make food chains to see who eats who!
They will develop their scientific knowledge and skills by asking research questions and carrying out investigations.
On your belly, legs at the ready, it's time to wriggle and crawl!

Cornerstones Imaginative Learning Project - The Scented Garden
Tiptoe through the tulips as your senses discover the blooming foliage and enchanting fragrances of flowers and herbs.
This half term Year 2 will explore the astounding world of the scented garden learning about the marvellous properties of plants, flowers and herbs.
They will learn to describe how plants need water, light and a suitable temperature to grow and stay healthy.
They may even use what they learn to grow their own plants!

Cornerstones Imaginative Learning Project - Muck, Mess and Mixtures
Let's get messy! Muck and mess is good! In fact it's mega-marvellous!
This half term Year 2 will be getting creative with a whole range of artistic materials and probably making lots of mess along the way.
They will learn a wide range of art and design techniques using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape form and space.
They will also write recipes, instructions, riddles and poems using lost of descriptive vocabulary to describe messy mixtures.

This way or that way? Where should we go? Up to the local shops or down to the canal?
Year 2 pupils this half term are going to learn about their local community, looking at houses old and new and finding out how Fazeley has changed since their parents were young.
Autumn 1st half term - 2016
Cornerstones Imaginative Learning Project - Towers and Turrets
See the castle ahead? Get ready to invade its mighty walls! Shoot an arrow with an archer's aim! Head across the drawbridge , over the moat and up to the top of the tower.
Meet Rapunzel who lives in a tall, tall tower. Can Year 2 pupils accept the challenge of designing a brand new tower? Who will build the tallest tower? How will you measure it?
Year 2 pupils will then dig deep, deep down making burrows and tunnels, just like the animals who live underground.
What's that sound? I hear little hooves going trip, trap, trip, trap over the rickety bridge. Watch out for the angry troll underneath .... He likes to gobble up Year 2 pupils! You will need to build a bridge which is sturdy enough to take the weight and get you safely to the other side.
Finally Year 2 will meet three little pigs who will need their help to build a strong fortress. Inside its strong wall they'll need to be safe from the big, bad wolf.
