Guidance on the Spread of Infections
19 September 2018 (by admin)
Important reminder regarding NHS guidance on preventing the spread of infections in school.
Since returning to school we have had to send a number of children home due to diarrhoea and vomiting illnesses. The guidance provided to schools from the NHS recommends that pupils be kept away from school for 48 hours from the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting in order to prevent infection.
It is important that pupils who do have these symptoms are given adequate time to recover in order to prevent further spread of these illnesses to other pupils and staff.
We would also be grateful to parents / carers if they could reinforce to their children the need to wash their hands thoroughly after they have been to the toilet and before meals.
