School Car Park - Health and Safety Reminder
11 January 2019 (by admin)
The Health and Safety Executive has urged schools to review traffic arrangements within their grounds.
After a recent prosecution involving a collision between a pupil and a school minibus, the Health and Safety Executive has urged schools to review traffic arrangements within their grounds, and where possible design layouts so pupils are separated from moving traffic.
We are fortunate that our school car park has clear separation between pupils, parents and vehicles (with fencing surrounding our car park) and there should be no reason for pupils to be on our school car park at any time.
The only exceptions to this is are:
1) at the beginning and end of the school day when pupils are being either dropped off or collected from Maximums (Before and After school club)
2) when pupils are being collected from after school clubs / or when exceptional arrangements are in place for parents to use the school car park at the end of the school day.
Could we please ask that parents / carers ensure that pupils are appropriately supervised at these times and are aware of the potential dangers of our school car park.
