Learning Update - Friday 22nd May

22 May 2020 (by admin)

Our final learning update for this half term.

Good morning everyone - it is Friday again and the end of another week.

Check out the last challenge for Mental Health Awareness week on our Twitter page which involves painting a kindness rock - we look forward to seeing those.

It is the last chance to submit any Catch and Throw challenges - these need to be in by 10.00am this morning. Well done to all those pupils who have entered.

We will have arrangements for the return to school on 1st June out to EYFS, Year 1 and Year 6 by the end of the day.

Details regarding key worker pupils in Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 will also be sent out today.

Our key worker has expanded rapidly over the past week in anticipation of the 1st June return. We must remind key worker parents / carers in Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 that if pupils can be cared for at home - they should be. The key worker provision for pupils in Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 is to allow parents / carers in vital key worker jobs to attend work.

Just that reminder again that the final decision as to whether pupils return to school will be made by the government on the 28th May.

We do finish for half term today and we would recommend that all year groups and pupils take a break from home learning next week.

We know motivating pupils has been tough particularly over the past few weeks but the effort and commitment shown has been outstanding - thank you again parents / carers for your support - it has been phenomenal.

We will still be here though throughout next week and if anyone has any issues, questions or queries over the next week please email: headteacher@millfield.staffs.sch.uk

All the best everyone - keep on doing what you are doing - and we'll see you soon.
