School reopens after half term for online and remote learning - Monday 22nd February

21 February 2021 (by admin)

Details of our online assemblies this week and of our exciting World Book Day in Lockdown with author Luke Temple.

Welcome back everyone – we hope you have had a good break over this past week and are ready for action for this half term up until Easter.

Hopefully we should know by the end of Monday when all pupils will be returning to school – things seem to have improved significantly so hopefully this will be sooner rather than later.

Our online assemblies are back this week at 9.15am.

Monday: Year 6 and Year 5

Tuesday: Year 4 and Year 3

Wednesday:  9.15am: Year 2 and Year 1

The link to these assemblies is the same as before half term but if you need the link again simply email:

All our assemblies this week will focus on positive thinking – and with our Key Stage 2 pupils we will be using resources for the first time from the Brilliant Schools programme.

The Brilliant Primary Schools programme is a set of videos and activities that introduce themes of happiness, wellbeing, flourishing, resilience, positivity and personal responsibility.

Brilliant Schools is a trail-blazing annual subscription service for schools, enabling access to high-quality wellbeing lessons and courses for staff, pupils and parents. We will be sharing links for videos for parents across this half term.

This week we will also be sharing details of our World Book Day in Lockdown events which will run from Monday 1st March across World Book Day on Thursday 4th March up to Friday 5th March.

As part of this week Luke will be running online an Exciting Writing Masterclass for pupils in Key Stage 2 and a Monstrous Masterclass for pupils in Key Stage 1. Pupils will be able to watch videos visiting supporting these master classes via YouTube whether at home or at school.

Pupils will have the opportunity to ask Luke questions, which he will film another video answering.

There will also be an opportunity for parents / carers to purchase signed copies of Luke’s books just like with a normal author visit to school – details to follow soon.
